"We must achieve the character and acquire the skills to live much poorer than we do. We must waste less. We must do more for ourselves and for each other. It is either that or continue merely to think and talk about changes that we are inviting catastrophe to make. The great obstacle is simply this: the conviction that we cannot change because we are dependant on what is wrong. But that is the addict's excuse, and we know that it will not do."

New butterflies

Another thing I love at this time of the year.
I found a few of these butterflies new hatched from the chrysalis this morning. They have been beautiful big caterpillars on the kumquat for a few weeks prior. I reckon a few leaves are a small price to pay for this.

  1. This is an orchard swallowtail or citrus butterfly Ulf. They are beautiful. Looks like the kumquat has a few spikes on it too.
I had one flying around our house yesterday.

  2. Thanks Jim, I am sure we can always spare a few citrus leaves!
